Food

Food is truly various and delicious in Seychelles. Traditionally, the locals grill fish and meat or cook them in Creole or karri sauces or in coconut milk. Fresh fish and seafood are caught and delivered twice a day – in the mornings and afternoons around 4 pm. Meat is also local and fresh, you will be offered a choice of pork, beef, lamb or poultry. What is more, you can try the eggs of exotic or migrant birds.


Fruits and vegetables are beyond imagination. Europeans will be amazed not only by the choices being offered, but also by the unexpected ways they are cooked and served. For example, bread-fruit is baked in charcoal, mango is served in a salad with onions, and papaya makes an incredible hot garnish to baked fish. It is really worth trying!
